About Dr. Schultz:

Dr. Estrella-Schultz is a medical doctor board certified in psychiatry with more than 20 years of experience as a psychiatrist. She finished her training at Stanford Medical Center (see Qualifications). She was a registered nurse before choosing to become a psychiatrist. She is empathetic, sensitive, compassionate, effective, and believes each person deserves a personally tailored, holistic treatment. The treatment she offers is customized to meet the needs of each person. It may be psychotherapy/counseling, medications, or a combination of both. She will discuss with you all of your options.

Her extensive experience as a nurse and medical doctor include areas of general medicine, surgical wards, trauma units, emergency room, pediatrics, intensive care units, neurology, burn units, public health clinics, and others. She also brings many years of psychiatric experience working in community clinics and private practice serving people from all walks of life with many cultural backgrounds and experiences.

She has seen hundreds of adults and seniors with a variety of disorders including: panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, social anxieties, schizophrenia, Attention deficit disorders, depression issues, bipolar disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorders, including veterans and many other issues that are too many to mention.

She has experience working with women's issues including trauma issues, life transitions, etc. She works with couples and families. She has helped many people with losses and grief and self-esteem issues. She has helped college students in their life transitions and relationship problems.

In addition she has extensive experience working with children and teenagers with issues such as attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity, impulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, mood and psychotic disorders, autism, and Asperger syndrome and other issues.

Her services include a detailed medical and psychological evaluation. She is fluent in Spanish and provides services in Spanish and Portuguese if needed. She takes some insurances as well as providing different types of payment options.

She welcomes referrals from other doctors and therapists. She will also see patients for medication evaluation and treatment only without therapy depending on the referral.
